I love going to Singapore for their food. From street hawkers to fine dining, you can count on having your palate satisfied.
If you’re heading to Singapore in the near future, here’s a few items I highly recommend you try:
- Tian Tian Hainanese chicken rice – it’s the best chicken rice I’ve ever tried. Just talking about it is enough to make me crave it. This hidden gem is located inside Maxwell Food centre and have once been featured on (and won) Gordan Ramsays hawker heroes challenge. They serve the smoothest most tender chicken I’ve ever tasted on top of a bed of flavour rich fragrant rice.
- Bak Kut Teh – I love this dish because I’m a huge fan of herbal flavoured soups. You have the option to add in different ingredients (ie. Pork ribs, pig liver, pig kidney) and they will serve it with either rice or noodle. I have yet to find a place that serves remarkably good Bak Kut Teh, but Song Fa would be my go to placeas they will constantly refill your tea/soup
- Chili crab – It was my first time trying Jumbo Seafood Restaraunt’s chilli crab, another dish that was featured on Gordan Ramsays hawker heroes challenge. Their seafood was top notch but that crab stood out like crazy… Biggest crab I’ve ever ate. Perfectly cooked with juicy meat in every bite. The slightly spicy, yet sweet sauce was rich and thick with crab meat. Goes perfectly with two bowls of rice or as a dip for the crab claws.
- Other must eats: 328 Katong Laksa, Kaya Toasts, and Mao Shan Wang durians!
