Munching away in Cheung Chau

IMG_9181[1]

I often hear locals talk about Cheung Chau and all their famous food stalls. Finally last week on my birthday, Kamster decided to take me in for a visit!!

After a little less than an hour ferry ride from Central pier, we arrived at this small, but packed island that was filled with tourists and teens enjoying the last bit of their summer holiday.

We only stayed for a few hours so in terms of activities, there really wasn’t much for us to do aside from eat, eat, and more eating.  But if we were to spend the whole day here, you could probably catch us sunbathing on their tad-bit-too-packed beach. There were lots of people biking around but I found the streets a bit too crowded to be enjoyable.

Anyways, here’s a few of the not-so-hidden gems I got to try during my visit!

Definitely a must eat – freshly prepared Mango and Durian Mochi!
Chunks of mango in the mango mochi.. yum yum
I call these… Curry Fish Balls on Steroids!
Boring… but I’m with Kamster so this is pretty much a must eat. Kamster’s all-time favorite – Tornado Potato Skewers.

And of course, Cheung Chau has their own wall of locks! Who needs Paris? 🙂
