I started off 2015 feeling very lost. One month after my baptism in September 2014, I moved to Hong Kong and immediately I felt like my faith was already being put to the test. I was semi-jobless, very family-less, somewhat friend-less, and very desperate to fit into the Christian community in HK. The struggles were real, but instead of falling into depression like last time in London, I was able to find peace at heart through constant prayers and by reflecting on the scriptures and sermons. I knew this trial was the perfect time to let God take control over my life, and I was certain this would help me grow closer to God…
2015 later became one of the most prosperous year for me and below is a recap of all the significant events that happened this year.
January
- It has been three months since I have moved back to Hong Kong. I am still struggling to land a job interview, but opportunities seems to be arising.
- Old friends from Edmonton came to visit us in HK
February
- Starting to get phone calls for interview
- First time spending CNY in HK
- After many years of procrastination, I finally started this blog!
March
- KEVIN accepted the gospel!!! Thank you God!
- A forensic company I’ve been eyeing on since 2011 suddenly had a job opening! I applied 2 weeks before my trip back home and was able to land an interview before I go.
- Went home for Easter
April
- CLAUDIA got pregnant!!!
- Suddenly got 4 offers on the table, one of them was from the Forensic company! I accepted the offer and started work at the end of April
- Travelled to Koh Samui before starting work
May
- Loving the new job and very blessed to be working with a great team
- Attended a new care group that we seem to bond alright with
June
- Celebrated our 10 year anniversary
- Met Jeremy Lin at the airport!!!! Got tickets to his sharing in HK. (Another story there, but thank God I didn’t get sent on a case that weekend)
July
- Flew to New Orleans for work and had a great experience there
August
- Made it back just in time to celebrate Kevin’s birthday!
September
- Family trip to Maui, Hawaii!! Many awesome memories were made
- Learnt how to surf
- Got sent away on my very first case that lasted 3 weeks!
October
- Very busy at work but very thankful for all the opportunities I’ve been given
November
- Parents came to visit. Thank God I was able to spend a lot of time with them
December
- Baby Morgan arrived on the 7th of December!
- Went home for Christmas with Kevin and had an amazing Christmas and New Years!
In short, God provided me my dream job, gave me a niece, brought Kevin and I closer to Him, and gave my family and I plenty of bonding time. Thank you to everyone who has made this an amazing year for me!
