Elephant Grounds recently became one of my favorite go-to places for brunch and coffee. Not only are their menu filled with innovative and instagram worthy dishes, but their bright and hipster atmosphere makes it the perfect place to chill on a Sunday afternoon.

There are a bunch of items I would love to try on their brunch menu, but here were two that dishes that caught my eyes immediately.  Unfortunately, both dishes tasted amazing, so I am a tad bit worried that I won’t have the guts to try anything else during my next visit.

The cured salmon chorizo hash came with house cured salmon, torched chorizo, potato hash, rocket, onsen egg & dill yogurt. Possibly one of the best combo I could ask for and  I am always in awe when they bring out their dishes, because they consistently make such perfect onsen eggs!  The hash was also nice and crispy on the edges but I think I could do without the torched chorizo and dill yogurt.  The yolk provided enough flavor for me.

Avvvocadoooo! I am a huge fan of avocado so my eyes were drooling when I saw the generous amount of avocado on the toast.  Fresh avocado spread over a sourdough toast, topped with an onsen egg, seasoned with black pepper and aged balsamic reduction. This combination just can’t go wrong! However, I am not a huge fan of sourdough toasts as I find it really chewy and tiring to eat after one slice.  It’s also a bit difficult to devour this dish elegantly given how tough it is to cut through the toast.

The cafe is also renowned for their ice cream sandwiches, which changes flavor on a weekly basis.  On the week that we went, they were serving the ‘Choco-Nilla Drip’ a vanilla bean ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate fudge cookies, finished with a chocolate drip.  The flavor wasn’t anything super adventurous, but the soft chocolate fudge cookies tasted ah-maz-ing!
