Exploring Yangon

Kandawgyi Lake

One of the two major lakes in Yangon.  I can see why locals would enjoy coming here to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  But it’s really not something to go out of your way to visit.

Shwedagon Pagoda

Cost: 8000MMR
No visit to the Myanmar is complete without a visit to this 2,500 years old Shwedagon Pagoda.  However, it is best to come later in the evening when the sun is not beating down on you.  You are required to take off your shoes when you enter the temple, so walking barefoot on boiling hot marble tiles could be a nightmare.
